USA TODAY Sports: Meet the 2018-19 Super 25 Preseason Boys Basketball Teams

(November 13, 2018)

Location: Mount Pleasant, Utah
Preseason Rank: 17
2017-18 record: 24-2
Final 2017-18 Super 25 ranking: 13

From the final Super 25 rankings last season: “Opponents’ winning percentage was more than 70% and all but two opponents made it to postseason play.”

Yet the Tigers only lost two games.

They’ll face an unusual challenge this year, though. Former head coach Curtis Condie left the program for a college opportunity, according to Deseret News, though it’s unclear what it was. Now, former Lone Peak (No. 17 in last year’s Super 25) head coach David Evans will be in charge.

In addition to losing Coach Condie, the team is missing one of its weapons from last season: height. There were as many players 6-foot-9 or taller as there were 6-foot-4 or shorter (three), and 7-foot center Bryan Penn-Johnson graduated and went to Washington.

But they still have weapons and they still have length. Mady Sissoko, a four-star center, has offers from four Pac-12 programs. Leonardo Colimerio is listed as a small forward on 247 Sports but a guard on the MaxPreps roster; he’s 6-foot-7 and the No. 2 Utah player in his class. BYU commit Bernardo Da Silva is a 6-foot-9 wing and forward Tristan Enaruna is 6-foot-8.

This year’s team will be different. But this year’s team still has talent.
