Get to Know the 6 McDonald’s All-American Boys' Nominees from Utah
(January 16, 2019) — With more than 800 nominees for the 2019 McDonald’s All-American teams — considered to be the most prestigious All-America squad in high school basketball — there were bound to be plenty of Utahns.
Six Utah boys basketball standouts have been named nominees, led by the Wasatch Academy trio of Tre Williams III, Tristan Enaruna, and BYU signee Bernardo Da Silva.
The final roster will be selected Jan. 24 at 1 p.m. MT on ESPN’s "The Jump," with the girls and boys games to be played Wednesday, March 27 beginning at 3 p.m. MT on ESPN2.
Da Silva, a 6-foot-9, 200-pound forward who has signed with BYU, averages 9.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.1 steals per game for the undefeated Tigers (18-0), who are rated No. 8 in the country in MaxPreps’ Xcellent 25.
Williams, a 6-foot-5, 190-pound guard who has committed to Minnesota, leads the Tigers with 16.6 points per game to go along with 4.4 assists and 2.9 rebounds.
Enaruna, a 6-10, 200-pound forward, averages 10.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game at Wasatch Academy. He holds offers from Creighton, Texas Tech, Georgia Tech, Illinois and Kansas, among others.
