Basketball never stops

With more than 28 buildings on our 35-acre campus, these are the select few that have become synonymous with the daily life of a Wasatch Academy Basketball student-athlete.

For almost seven decades, spectators, players, and coaches have understood the unique magic of the 16,000 sqft. Brunger Wilkey Gym that seats 850 fans. Built in 1951, the Brunger Wilkey Gym is iconic and timeless, with many comparing it to the famous Hoosier Gym in Knightstown, Indiana. Home of the Geno Morgan basketball court, the Tigers have had an amazing amount of success in the Brunger Wilkey, winning 98 percent of their games since 2009.

The court was dedicated to renowned Wasatch Academy basketball coach Geno Morgan, a legend in his own right, on September 11, 2015. During that same year, renovation work began on the interior. A new electronic scoreboard, new locker rooms, and installation of a new floor gave Brunger Wilkey an updated look while maintaining the original elegance. Then, in 2018, the lobby was remodeled, a state-of-the-art sound system and team weight room were added, a permanent 4’ x 8’ video platform was installed for visiting local and national sports media, professional branding of the lobby was created, and all the banners were replaced in the rafters.

Built in 2018, the Joseph R. Loftin Fieldhouse is a 35,000 square foot facility accommodating five indoor basketball courts, one outdoor basketball court, volleyball courts, badminton courts, a full-size track, and an indoor soccer field.

Attached to the Activities Center is the original Multi-Purpose Building (MPB) that houses the basketball court, a fitness and weight lifting room, a rock climbing wall, a bouldering room, a dance studio, and our basketball coaching staff offices.

The Loftin Lewis Student Center (LLSC) houses the buffet-style campus cafeteria. Students can watch TV, play video games, pick up their mail, buy school and personal supplies, purchase Wasatch Academy clothing, and play pool, air hockey, and ping pong.
